Privacy policy
baba learn is a Hebrew learning app. We collect what we need to teach you and to run your subscription, and nothing more. We do not sell your data, and there are no ads in the app.
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, or to delete it, at any time. Just write to support@itsbaba.com.
This policy explains what baba learn collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email us and we will explain it.
"baba learn," "baba," "we," "us," and "our" mean the team behind the baba learn app and this website. "You" means the person using the app or joining our early access list.
What we collect and why
Your learning progress
As you study, the app records how you are doing: which lessons you have finished, which words you have practiced, your review schedule, and your streak. This starts on your device and syncs to our servers so your progress follows you if you change phones or reinstall. We use it only to run the course and to bring words back for review at the right time.
Your account
If you create an account, we store what you give us to sign in (for example an email address) so we can keep your progress attached to you and let you log back in. We do not ask for information we do not need.
Subscriptions and purchases
baba learn offers a paid subscription. Payment is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and we use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions across both stores. We never see or store your full card number. What we do receive is limited purchase information, such as whether your subscription is active, which plan you are on, and when it renews or ends, so we can unlock the features you paid for.
Crash and diagnostic data
When something breaks, we use Sentry to collect crash reports and basic technical details (for example the app version, your device type, and what the app was doing when it failed). This helps us find and fix problems. We use it to keep the app working, not to profile you.
The early access list on this website
If you join the waitlist on this site, we collect the email address you enter so we can tell you when baba learn is ready. That is the only reason we use it. You can ask us to remove you at any time.
Basic technical information
Like most apps and websites, our servers automatically receive some technical data when you connect, such as your device type, app or browser version, and general information needed to deliver the service securely. We use it to keep things running and to protect against abuse.
What we do not do: we do not run ads, we do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers.
How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- teach you Hebrew and save your progress across your devices,
- run your subscription and give you access to what you paid for,
- find, fix, and prevent crashes, bugs, and abuse,
- reply to you when you contact us for support,
- let you know, if you asked, when the app is available.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers we need to run baba learn, and only so they can do their job for us:
- Apple and Google: to process your subscription payment through their stores.
- RevenueCat: to manage and verify your subscription across the two stores.
- Sentry: to collect crash reports so we can fix problems.
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers: to store your progress and run the servers securely.
These providers may only use the data to provide their service to us. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our users and the service. If our company is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, we will let you know before your information moves to a new owner under this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and learning progress for as long as your account is active, so your course is there when you come back. Crash and diagnostic data is kept for a limited period and then removed. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we remove it from our systems within a reasonable time, except where we must keep some records to meet a legal or accounting obligation.
Your rights and choices
You can, at any time:
- ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you,
- ask us to correct information that is wrong,
- ask us to delete your account and your data,
- ask us to remove you from the early access list.
To make any of these requests, email support@itsbaba.com from the address on your account and we will take care of it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local law, and you can contact us to use them.
Children
baba learn is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, email support@itsbaba.com and we will delete it.
How we protect your data
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, such as encryption in transit and access controls on our systems. No service can promise perfect security, but we work to keep your data safe and to limit who can reach it.
Where your data is processed
Our providers may store and process data in countries other than the one you live in. When that happens, we rely on those providers to protect your information at the standard described in this policy, wherever it is handled.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, give you notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use baba learn after a change means you accept the updated policy.
